Environmental Impact Assessment

ESIA for the Vanga Seagrass Project

The Consultant shall undertake a comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the Vanga Seagrass Project in compliance with EMCA Cap. 387, the Environmental (Impact Assessment and Audit) Regulations, 2003, NEMA guidelines, and other applicable environmental and social safeguard requirements. The assignment includes reviewing project documentation and the applicable legal and regulatory framework; conducting scoping, environmental, ecological, and socio-economic baseline studies; identifying and assessing potential environmental and social impacts, risks, cumulative effects, and project alternatives; and undertaking stakeholder engagement and public participation.

Environmental Impact Assessment

ESIA — Climate Smart Bridge Construction at Onditi along Musembe Chekalini Road

The County Government of Kakamega through the FLLoCA programme funded by World Bank aimed at improving access to water. Bonfind conducted the Summary Project Report and undertook a comprehensive socio-economic Survey that was included in the ESIA reports.

Chakareli Material Recovery Facility — Environmental Audit

The County Government of Kilifi through the Go-Blue programme wanted to improve the Chakareli dumpsite into Chakareli Material Recovery Facility, hence required an initial environmental Audit of the existing condition of the dumpsite and its effect on the surrounding community.

Water, Sanitation & ESIA

Detailed Design, ESIA & RAP — Makutano Water and Sewerage Project

Detailed design, design review, ESIA & RAP and construction supervision of works comprising sewerage systems for Kangari and Kangema towns (12.5km trunk sewers, 15.5km reticulation, 3,000m³/d treatment plant, 1,000 household connections) and a rural water component including 45km of HDPE pipeline and a 250m³ masonry tank. Bonfind prepared ESIA & RAP, implemented ESMP requirements and undertook a comprehensive socio-economic Survey included in the ESIA reports.

Feasibility Study, Detailed Design, ESIA & Connection Strategy — Nairobi Inclusive Sanitation Improvement Project

To improve livelihoods of the informal, formal and surrounding peri-urban areas within the Nairobi City by providing citywide sustainable access to both sewered and non-sewered sanitation options as necessary. Services included feasibility study, detailed design and tender documentation, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (including Cumulative Impact Assessment), RAP implementation support, GIS mapping of existing WATSAN facilities and a comprehensive socio-economic survey.
